Fall Haul

Hi Everyone! So I think Autumn has well and truly arrived and as we’re entering November (already?!) I thought I’d do a little post of some of my purchases so far this Autumn.

I’ll start with the one thing I didn’t actually purchase myself and that’s the lovely New(ish) Roses de Chloé. My delightful boyfriend bought this for me in duty free on his recent trip to Africa after a few very severe hints. At first sniff, I loved this perfume; in fact at first glance I knew I would. I’m a girl that likes a floral scent that’s not ‘powdery’, but something with a rounded slights sweet note and a slightly deeper note to it. Firm favourites of mine include Elie Saab, Gucci Flora in Gracious Tuberose and most of all, my Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb – our relationship’s still going strong after 8 years, safe to say it’s love! Roses de Chloé seamlessly fits into my collection and certainly ticks all my boxes. So if you love a good complex floral scent, definitely go and try this out, it’s incredible. In addition, for an Eau de Toilette, the staying power is amazing; I ended up wanting it so bad because I had the swatch in my bag for 2 weeks and every time I opened my bad the scent hit me – it’s quite amazing.

Moving on, this month I also took the plunge on Indeed Labs Eyesilix which I purchased from Boots with a £5 off voucher (still at an eye-watering £20!) after hearing great things in the blogosphere and being quite wowed at the sample in the shop a while ago. When I tested this, it really tingled my eyes and instantly brightened my eyes (which it says it does on the box) so I was majorly impressed. So far, not seeing such amazing results (and no tingling?) but reserving judgment for now... I wonder if I got a dud?!

After seeing a tip for these WoodWick Candles on FleurdeForces channel, I had to try them. Tempted by the promise of a crackling fire sound due to the wooden wick, a good burn and fab scent throw out, I took a risk and ordered some (where the hell can I find somewhere to go smell them in Leeds?!), settling for Cinnamon Chai as a Christmassy scent, and Amber Twilight to suit my floral/woody cravings. I’m going to do a full review of these soon so be sure to keep an eye!

My Korres Wild Rose Exfoliating Cleanser was a bit of a wild purchase. I hate buying face washes and scrubs – I like one to just use quickly use if I’m in the shower (whereas I have separate ones for removing makeup at night etc), but can I ever find a decent one? No. So I end up wasting my money on yet more (useless) drug store ones. I personally always like to use a scrubby face wash as my skin can get quite clogged and I don’t really see the point otherwise, so this Korres one looked tempting, promising to brighten (my go-to word) and soothe my skin – brilliant. And after finding it on Amazon for £10 rather than the usual £18, I was sold, even without my usual research. I’m definitely going to do a review on this soon but so far, I recommend!

Lee Stafford Argan Oil Heat Protection is a consistent repurchase for me and having finished mine this month (see my detailed thoughtson this in my Holy Grail Hair Empties post here), I was sure to repurchase a couple more of these to see me through winter and look after my poor locks.

Next is the ‘drugstore’ makeup I purchased after a bit of a penny pinching month. I thought it was time I got the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer after seeing millions of rave reviews all over the internet! The agency I work for also does design work for Collection so thought I’d throw in some support – nice to see they’re shaking off their old image! Secondly, after very nearly breaking and splurging on the MAC Eye Pencil in Coffee, I whisked myself off to Boots and purchased my trusty Rimmer Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner instead in a new shade for me, 011 Sable. I won’t lie though, I did slip and get the Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Kajal in 004 Taupe for good measure – I thought it’d make a nice easy day option! Oops.

Last but not least, I got this lovely cosy Bobble Hat from Topshop in this beautiful slightly mauvey grey to get me through Autumn and Winter – think I’ll need it! Brrr…
