Holy Grail Hair Empties

This is a bit of a mish mash post but it does make sense – promise! This month I seem to have had a LOT of empties for some strange reason, and when I was looking at everything I realised that they were all my faves. When you think about it, it’s kinda obvious why because if I don’t like it, I won’t finish it! These wonder products have made the cut because I continue to repurchase them again and again.

So there you go – my Holy Grail Empties and because there have been so many, Part 1 is just going to be about hair. Let’s go!

Kérastase Bain Force Architecte

I’ve already done a fairly lengthy post on this here which pretty much extensively describes my love for it. My hair breaks incredibly easily and this is my absolute saviour. It has helped my hair grow throughout the last year and a half and break far less and is particularly effective when left to soak in like a mask for a couple of minutes. I think this was my third bottle and I had my fourth at the ready for when this was empty. It’s a bit on the pricy side but I find it really lasts – I always get mine from lookfantastic.com or feelunique.com for around £12 offer or voucher dependent and that’s with free delivery.

Kérastase Ciment Thermique

The perfect partner to my Bain Force Architecte, this little baby is a heat protective smoothing cream which I apply to towel dried hair (along with the wonderful Moroccan Oil) to protect my hair as much as possible from the inevitable heat styling. People often forget that drying your hair can cause heat damage and will only apply heat protection before styling – you just can’t get away with this If you have hair like mine so I use both. I’ve been using this for about two years and it is wonderful, the difference in my hair was noticeable within just a couple of weeks. Again – a bit of a splurge at around £15 on lookfantastic.com, but worth it in my opinion – my next bottle is already in the post.

Lee Stafford Hair That Never Grows Past a Certain Length Treatment

Phew! One hell of a long winded name but it does what it says on the tin – something that calls out to a lot of females, including myself. This is a mask that I always go back too as it is, in my opinion, the best ‘drug store’ option. I’ve tried several very expensive masks including Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer and Kérastase Masque Force Architecte which were good but I really don’t think Lee Stafford is far off with this gem, and at a fraction of the price. It leaves hair soft, but not flyaway and over time I definitely notice less breakage and my hair feeling stronger – it makes a great partner to my Bain Force Architecte.

I use masks instead of conditioner so I like them as easy, quick and convenient to use as possible and this one definitely ticks the boxes and at £7.99 each (I always quite astonishingly manage to pick it up on 3 for £12 at Boots… I know, right?!) you can’t go wrong. I could get six of these before I could afford the Masque Force Architecte, so I think I’ll be sticking to this for the foreseeable future as I’ve really never found a premium WOW mask! You can get it here at Boots.

Lee Stafford Argan Oil Miracle Heat Defence Spray

I have always used heat protection before straightening ever since I got my GHD’s over 10 years ago now when they were first released and it didn’t take long for Lee Staffords Flat Iron Spray to become pick of the bunch. It wasn’t until this Argon Oil one came out that I realised the heat protect itself could be nourishing but still effective (I’ve found cheaper alternative like just spraying conditioner over my hair).  If you’re looking for a good protective spray, this is a good option in my opinion and though £12.99 a piece, the Argan Oil range is often on 3 for £20 at Boots (and currently is now so good time to give it a go!). I use a light mist on each layer just before straightening and find it works a real treat – I’ve lost count of how many bottles I’ve been through and always have a least one in storage.

Nexxus ProMend Split End Binding Leave–In Creme

This is a great product but with it’s price and poor availability in the UK (it’s currently available on Amazing for around £15), I find I use this in sporadic phases. I was initially recommended this in the hairdressers and was very put off by the price they were selling it for, thought a quick Amazon search enabled me to find it, albeit for an eye-watering £20ish. This cream is genius if you have damaged hair like mine – it binds your split ends together to improve the appearance of them dramatically, leaving you looking like a virtuous hair carer (Note: it doesn’t ‘fix’ them, nothing can!). I use this on towel dried hair and immediately notice the difference once my hair is dry, and also if I don’t use it for a day! I particularly get back into the swing of using this in Winter when my split ends become far worse/more noticeable so I’m sure I’ll be ordering a new  one shortly.

Moroccan Oil

I won’t bore you with this one!

Yes, yes we all know it’s great. I find it’s brilliant for use on wet hair and it’s really improved my hairs condition since I’ve been using it, though I wouldn’t recommend any more than a tiny smidge on dry hair (it’s far too rich).  I picked up my new bottle on an ‘Extra Free’ offer on lookfantastic.com, though I have to admit – at the price, my first bottle was certainly on the Christmas List.

I hope you enjoyed my quick whistlestop tour of my haircare faves and maybe found a couple of products you fancy giving a try J
